Hello! Welcome to our Project Stella Blog!
We just completed the amazing process of going through nominations and selecting the young people who will share their inspiring stories in the book, 52 Kids who R.O.C.K. Every Day: Inspiring stories of young people who Radiate Outrageous Compassion & Kindness.
We asked the top finalists selected the following question: “Why is it important for kids your age to be kind and compassionate to others?”
Below, we share their answers. Please join us in congratulating these young people in their commitment to inspiring their peers.
BONUS: And as a “Thank You” for checking out Project Stella Resources, we want to give you a Bonus!
Use the wheel to introduce Daily Acts of Kindness in a fun way! Then your students can reflect on what they did.
Great way to begin and end each school day!
“What a great way to encourage positive relationships in the classroom! Thank you!”
“Perfect to keep next to my desk for easy grab and go!”
“I like that these instructions come from the wheel, rather than from myself or another adult. It seems to motivate students from a higher, more altruistic level. Thanks for this!”

“Imagine how amazing the world would be if everyone was kind and compassionate to each other and put others needs above their own? One person can’t impact the world but you can make a world of difference for a person you help! Let’s all do our part by actively looking to make a difference every single day!”
Jasmine M. — age 16
“It is important for kids my age to be kind and compassionate about others because some people are less fortunate. Most kids my age do not understand that they are blessed to have the opportunities that they have now. Kids my age should learn to care about others and the importance of helping others. People who do not have the amazing advantages I have suffer from extreme lost of hope. I believe that the world should be a happier place for everyone without all the struggling some people have to go through. This is why I strongly support community service. Giving back to the community makes you feel like you are helping the world little by little. Kids my age should learn to accept the fact that they are grateful and be more considerate of others because they need to understand that they could be the one who is less fortunate. If kids my age learned to place themselves in someone else’s shoes they would know how much love it would mean to others to be kind.”
Anne N. — age 11
“It is important for kids my age to be kind and compassionate to others because, we all have to share this planet together and we should help each other out instead of hurting each other. One little act of kindness can effect many people in a good way.”
Angela V. — age 7
“Being kind and compassionate is important because you help others, and being kind is the right thing to do and how you should always be. “
